About us

Welcome! Haere mai!

The Bahá’í Children’s Classes at Ko Te Aroha have started in August 2011. They are open to all children between the age of 3 and 11 – everyone welcome :).

We currently offer 3 classes for the different age groups:

“Children are the most precious treasure a community can possess, for in them are the promise and guarantee of the future.”

What is a Bahá’í Children’s Class? They are classes that aim to contribute to the awakening and development of the spiritual nature of children. Virtues such as honesty, love, trustworthiness, humility and kindness are taught, as well as the tools needed for children to thrive as citizens of the world.

Stories, music, art and games form an integral part of the curriculum. Children explore ways in which they can contribute to society and serve humanity. Each class we look at a different theme – see our lesson posts to give you an overview.

For longterm success, it is critical that parents, youth and residents of the neighbourhood become involved. Be it to share a special skill or talent, help with morning tea preparations, waiata (music), prayers or becoming teachers as well (for which we offer training).
